Wiston Estate

Nestled in the heart of England's rolling South Downs, Wiston Estate combines centuries of heritage with innovative winemaking. The estate has been in the Goring family since 1743, but it wasn't until 2006 that the first vines were planted under the guidance of Pip Goring, who had long dreamed of creating sparkling wine on the estate's chalky slopes.

The estate's story is as captivating as its wines: a historic property reimagined through sustainable viticulture, where chalk-rich soils and south-facing slopes create perfect conditions for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes.

First-time visitors are consistently surprised by the warm welcome and lack of pretension—this is a place where questions are encouraged and wine appreciation comes naturally.

Wiston Estate produces a range of traditional method sparkling wines, all made from grapes grown on the estate. Their flagship wines include:

Wiston Estate Blanc de Blancs
Made from 100% Chardonnay, this elegant wine shows notes of green apple, citrus, and brioche, with a distinctive chalky minerality.

Wiston Estate Rosé
A delicate pink sparkling wine made from Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay, with aromas of wild strawberries, cranberry, and a touch of spice.

Wiston Estate Cuvée
Their signature blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, offering complexity with notes of baked apple, toast, and honey.

Wiston Estate Blanc de Noirs
Made exclusively from red grapes (Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier), this wine shows rich flavors of red fruits, pastry, and a hint of spice.

Wine Tastings

Sample Wiston's award-winning sparkling wines in their tasting room, housed in a beautifully converted barn with views across the vineyard.

No booking required for groups under 6 people. During busy periods, tastings may not be available.

Estate Tours

Join a guided tour of the vineyard and winery, learning about Wiston's sustainable approach and traditional methods, followed by a tutored tasting of their exceptional sparkling wines.

Tours run Friday to Sunday at 11am and 2pm. Booking essential.
