Bolney Wine Estate
-
Bolney Wine Estate is one of England's oldest and most established vineyards, with a rich history dating back to 1972 when founders Janet and Rodney Pratt planted their first vines. What began as Bookers Vineyard with just three acres has grown into a renowned 104-acre estate spanning five unique vineyard sites.
Located in the heart of Sussex, Bolney benefits from the region's unique microclimate and sandstone soils, which create ideal conditions for producing exceptional still and sparkling wines. The estate has been at the forefront of English wine production for five decades, pioneering quality red wines alongside their acclaimed sparkling varieties.
Now in its third generation of family ownership, with Sam Linter (daughter of the founders) as Managing Director and Head Winemaker, Bolney continues to innovate while honoring its heritage. The estate has achieved numerous milestones, including becoming the first English wine served at Wimbledon in 2015 and welcoming HRH The Duchess of Cornwall to open their state-of-the-art winery in 2019.
Bolney's commitment to sustainability is evident throughout their operations, from wildlife-friendly vineyard management to solar power and rainwater harvesting. This dedication to the environment ensures the estate will continue to thrive for generations to come.
