Court Garden

Court Garden is a family-run, single-estate vineyard and winery in the picturesque village of Ditchling, nestled at the foot of the South Downs. The vineyard was established in 2005 by the Corney family on a beautiful south-facing slope with free-draining, chalky soil – perfect conditions for growing the classic Champagne varieties.

The estate takes its name from the historic Court Garden, a farmstead dating back to the Norman Conquest mentioned in the Domesday Book. Today, this heritage is honored through sustainable farming practices and traditional winemaking methods that respect the land's rich history.

Court Garden is committed to environmentally friendly viticulture, using minimal intervention in both the vineyard and winery. The family manages every aspect of production, from pruning the vines to hand-disgorging their sparkling wines, ensuring exceptional quality and character in every bottle.

The vineyard's proximity to the South Downs National Park provides not only a stunning backdrop but also a unique microclimate that, combined with the chalky soil, creates ideal conditions for producing world-class sparkling wines that truly express the distinctive Sussex terroir.

Court Garden's intimate tasting room offers a warm welcome in a converted farm building with views across the vineyard. The rustic yet elegant space provides the perfect setting to sample their award-winning wines while learning about the estate's history and winemaking philosophy.

During summer months, guests can enjoy tastings in the covered outdoor seating area, surrounded by the sights and sounds of this working vineyard. The tasting room also houses a shop where visitors can purchase the full range of Court Garden wines to take home.

Court Garden specializes in traditional method sparkling wines alongside a select range of still wines, all produced from grapes grown exclusively on the estate:

• Classic Cuvée: A balanced blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier with notes of citrus, apple, and brioche

• Blanc de Blancs: 100% Chardonnay with elegant minerality and crisp apple notes

• Blanc de Noirs: 100% Pinot Noir offering rich red fruit character and complexity

• Rosé: Delicate pink sparkling wine with summer berry flavors

• Ditchling Reserve: Their premium cuvée, only produced in exceptional years

• Still Wines: Including Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Ortega varieties that showcase the vineyard's versatility

All wines are produced using traditional methods with minimal intervention to express the true character of the vineyard.

Pre-Booking is Essential. Court Garden are unable to accomodate walk-ins.

• Vineyard Tour & Tasting (£27.50pp): A 2hr experience, including a guided tour of the vineyard and winery, followed by a tutored tasting of three Court Garden sparkling wines. (Saturdays, 11am & 3pm)

• Wine & Cheese Vineyard Tour (£34pp). A comprehensive 2-hour experience including a detailed tour and tasting of two sparkling and two still award-winning wines and four cheeses. (Saturdays on select Saturdays)

• Picnics (£19.75pp) - Book a homemade picnic to enjoy after your morning tour or before your afternoon tour - available for collection between 1pm-2pm on Saturdays.

• Self-guided Picnic Tours for Two (£86.50) - Enjoy a self-guided tour and picnic lunch for two, including a half bottle of sparkling wine delivered to a picnic table deep in the vineyard. Available for collection between 1pm-2pm on Saturdays.
